Will the Slovakia Company’s plan to make a flying car commercially available to the public this year become reality?
No-one really knows what the future holds, but the reality is the world is relying more and more on technology and the normal is quickly disappearing.
The Jetson’s way of living may become reality sooner than we may think. The airways may become the norm of regular driving. Slovakian company AeroMobil unveiled its latest prototype of a road-ready vehicle with wings that can navigate both city traffic and the airspace in between landings and take-offs from the world’s airports.
From the company’s website here is a quick description of the flying car. AeroMobil is a flying car that perfectly makes use of existing infrastructure created for automobiles and planes, and opens doors to real door-to-door travel. As a car it fits into any standard parking space, uses regular gasoline, and can be used in road traffic just like any other car. As a plane it can use any airport in the world, but can also take off and land using any grass strip or paved surface just a few hundred meters long.
It seems like you may use your standard car driving license for the road operation however Private Pilot License (PPL) is recommended. However, to operate AeroMobil in air, Sport Pilot License (SPL) will be sufficient for the early version.
But you may not be able to own one yet as the price of the plane/car is not yet set. but as per the company’s own word the AeroMobil will set you back several hundreds of thousand Euro if you want to own the car/plane.
